In January 1998, Shell Chemicals developed a Global Business Management Structure and embarked on a reorganization of its Business Portfolio and cost improvement program on a world-wide scale. We completed the Business Portfolio reorganization by the first half of 2001, and took new steps to achieve unprecendented growth by focusing on main petrochemicals as our new core business. It is in this area that we can best take advantage of our connections with oil businesses.
