Head office buildingAs an Oil Product enterprise with global network and technologies of the Shell Group, Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. provides fuel and energy solutions to the Japanese market.

The combined capacity of the three oil refineries (Showa Yokkaichi Sekiyu's Yokkaichi Refinery, Toa Oil's Keihin Refinery and Seibu Oil's Yamaguchi Refinery), is approximately 515,000 barrels per day. Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. has introduced state-of-the-art technology including an integrated unit, fuel oil hydrogenation and desulfurization facilities, residue fluid catalyst cracking facilities, continuous regeneration catalyst reforming facilities, gasoline isomerization facilities and a Flexicoker. At the same time, the company is committed to safety issues and protection of the environment.

Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. is involved in the sale of gasolines, kerosines ,gas oil, fuel oil, marine bunkers, lubricants, bitumen, LP gas, and other petroleum products.

The sales structure can be roughly divided along functional lines into general domestic sales and international sales. Domestic sales in the main comprise retail sales at approximately 5,400 service stations of gasoline, kerosines and all types of automotive lubricants. We also provide various services in addition to direct sales relating to fuel oil, gas oil, naphtha, lubricants and bitumen to meet the demands of manufacturers, electricity generation and gas companies, shipping companies, construction firms and fishing enterprise operators, ets., as well as sales of LP gas. International sales include aviation fuel for international airlines as well as sales of marine bunkers and lubricants to ocean-going vessels.

In order to better serve society's changing medium and long-term needs, the company's Central Research Laboratory is engaged in a wide range of research activities related to petroleum, non-petroleum products, new energy, an affiliated fuel cell and in the environmental field from basic research to product development and technical services.
