Light Up the Life of a Refugee Child |
Every year in December, R.I. Japan sets up a huge Christmas tree, named “Tree of Love,” in the Marunouchi North Exit of Tokyo station and holds a ceremony of “Light Up the Life of a Refugee Child” to light up the tree with over 4,000 illuminations. During this one-week charity event, R.I. Japan hosts musical performances and sells hand-made crafts. Donation and sales generated through this event are used to help improve the lives of refugees.

The hand-made crafts |
The hand-made crafts sold by R. I. Japan are made in refugee camps in Thailand by refugees from Laos. This support from R.I. Japan not only promotes these people's self-reliance in the camps and back in their own country, but it also plays an important role in preserving their cultural traditions. |
