"Haruyuki Niimi's role has been instrumental in the company achieving its present strong position and respected status with the Japanese and International business community," said Khalid G. Al-Buainain Senior Vice President of Refining, Marketing and International, Saudi Aramco.

Haruyuki Niimi joined Shell Sekiyu in 1960 and held several positions there until he became Managing Director of the newly merged Showa Shell Sekiyu in 1985. He became Vice President of the company in 1993 and Chairman in 1995. In 2005 he became Chairman and President, and since 2006 has held the position of Chairman.
